Huang advances in singles; Wilson, Marquez move on in doubles;
Final rounds in Hollister
SALINAS – A day after suffering a 6-1 elimination loss to Notre Dame, the Lady Mustang tennis team was back on the courts for Wednesday’s Tri-County Athletic League Finals with two doubles units and two singles players.

Senior Valerie Huang and the brand-new tandem of seniors Catherine Wilson and Mindy Marquez survived the opening rounds at North Salinas High and will battle in the semifinals today at Ridgemark in Hollister.

Huang played in the No. 2 singles position for Gilroy most of the season – but Wilson, at No. 1, and Marquez, at No. 2, decided to join forces rather than play singles and take a run at the league doubles title.

Senior Megan Leuchars competed in the T-CALs as well as the doubles unit of senior Jackie Morales and junior Tasha LoPorto – but they did not advance to the second day.
