SIGHTS AND SOUNDS

Don’t be cruel. Elvis himself can’t even say no to Gilroy’s famous food festival. So be sure to support by watching him shake it and shimmy when he takes the Vineyard Stage from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thank ya. Thank ya, vera much. Uh huh.

SIGNATURE

Before you head out for the day, be sure to track down Mr. Garlic himself for a photo op. You can’t miss him. He’s the guy dressed to the nines in a garlic suit and crown of the famed herb. Well, the one that is supposed to be.

YOUNG FUN

Find the Mellow Mud Pottery Booth and snap a photo with the grimacing garlic man. C’mon, everyone knows the smell of garlic isn’t as bad as he makes it look. Plus it is only one of the few times you will tell your kids to pinch their noses. Better here than at the kitchen table.

YUMMY FOR YOUR TUMMY

The pyrochefs may steal the show but the ladies with the chicken hats know how to serve it up too. Check out the chicken stir fry show at the edge of Gourmet Alley but watch out, chickens will fly as the volunteers have been known to flick a chunk of poultry every now and then.

WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Find a friend and test your singing skills against the best of them at the karaoke tent. Who knows, you might be taking one of the Garlic Festival’s stages next year and making the Gilroy Dispatch Top 5. Or maybe not.
