The co-owners of a Gilroy landscaping company were honored by the Central Coast chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association for their water conservation efforts, according to a company press release.
Greg Bozzo and Joe Carrera, owners of Landscape Innovation, Inc., won first place June 16 for their water management project at Village Green senior living center in Gilroy. With help from Bozzo and Carrera, the Village Green Homeowners Association saved 3,882,000 gallons of water in the project’s first year, sending its water bill plummeting $25,000, according to the press release.
The company also helped the LaCrosse Village Apartment complex in Morgan Hill cut irrigation water usage by more than 3 million gallons from 2009-10. That project netted Bozzo and Carrera a second place award.
The company also won a second place award for designing and building a landscape treatment.
