A Gilroy man is in jail without bail after he allegedly supplied two 14-year-old girls with methamphetamine and performed lewd acts on one of them.
Adrian Silva, 25, was arrested at 12:31 p.m. Monday at his home on the 1100 block of Montebello Drive on charges of cruelty to a child, conducting lewd and lascivious acts on someone under the age of 14 and a parole hold.
After the two girls involved in the incident ingested methamphetamine, Silva conducted the lewd acts in a home in Gilroy at 11:54 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. Chad Gallacinao said. The two girls, who appear to be friends, knew the suspect, he said. The girl who was not a victim of the lewd acts was in the same room as the victim while some of the sexual activity was occurring, Gallacinao said.
Gallacinao would not provide any more specific details on the location of the crime or the relationship between the suspect and the victim as the case is still under investigation.
Police found out about the incident after they were investigating a missing persons case. However, Gallacinao would not say whether that case involved one of the girls involved in the molestation incident.
Sunday’s incident had no relation to a November sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Christmas Hill Park and a similar May assault at a warehouse at Ninth and Alexander streets, Gallacinao said.
“As far as safety goes, it’s not the same people doing stuff over and over again,” he said.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Gilroy Police Department at 846-0300 or the We Tip line at (800) 782-7463.
