Gilroy mayor’s mother, 84, dies

Maria A. Pinheiro, Gilroy Mayor Al Pinheiro’s mother, died this morning in her son’s home after a lengthy illness, according to Habing Family Funeral Home.

She was 84.

Maria A. Pinheiro had been a Gilroy resident since 1965. She once worked at Gilroy Foods and was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the I.F.D.E.S Lodge and Our Lady of Fatima.
