Robert Aiassa passed away at Stanford Hospital with his family by his side. He was born and raised in San Jose. His parents were Frank and Elsie Aiassa. Robert started Aiassa Trucking after serving as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He drove a truck for 62 years. He was still driving until December 9, 2008. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly, sons, Steven and Michael, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Fusao "Fuzzy" Nagareda passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the age of 81. Born on November 25, 1927, he was part of a close, loving family of five brothers and five sisters born to Yoshio and Shigeru Nagareda. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Also preceding Fusao in death were his brother Hiromi Nagareda (Betty), sister Susan Shimizu (Ed), sister Bonnie Sakata and brother-in law Tom Okita. Fusao is survived by his sister Tazzie Okita, sister Connie Yamanaka (Ken), sister Judy Yee (Mel), brother Bill Nagareda (Cathy), brother Ken Nagareda (Melinda), brother Harry Nagareda (Linda), brother-in law Hiro Sakata and twelve nieces and nephews.
Susan Ruth Fink, 64, passed away peaceful at home surrounded by her family on January 10, 2009. Beloved wife of Donald Fink for 35 years. Loving mother of Susan Baldwin, John Baldwin, Edward Baldwin, Donna Fink, Diane Mancinelli and Tracy Fink. Devoted grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 2.
Passed away in Long Barn, CA at the age of 86. He was born in Attica, OH and lived in Hollister for many years prior to moving to Long Barn in 1987, after building his own home there. He worked for many years for Saufnauer Plumbing and served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII. He is a 53 year member of Mound Lodge #166 IOOF. He and his wife, Mary Jane, were married in 1945 in Hollister.
Pilar R. Brown, aged 38 years, passed away at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. Pilar has lived in San Benito County the last 10 years; had attended the Rolling Hills Community Church, and was very active with her sons Angelo and Anthony in their school activities. Part of her enjoyment was listening to "Oldies from the 1980's". She was a native of Los Angeles, CA, and had received her education at Hightstown High School, Hightstown, N. J. In addition to her sons Angelo and Anthony Hudson, she is survived by her mother and father Anthony and Gloria Brooks of Hollister; her grandmother Gertrude Brown Hayes of N.Y.; her aunts Cecelia and Edythe Manns of Richmond, V.A. and Carol Hayes of N.Y.; her uncle Rahsaan Brown of N.Y.; her great-grandfather Dolphus Manns of Maryland; grandfather Alfred Gene Manns of Phoenix, A.Z.; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Pilar's life this evening (Tuesday Jan. 13th) beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Rolling Hills Community Church 330 Tres Pinos Rd., Hollister. Private cremation will be held and inurnment will be at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, N.J.
Leora Del Sanders, age 83, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Gilroy. She was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) Sanders. She is survived by her sons Michael (Jan) of Morgan Hill, and Thomas (Debbie) of Victor, NY; grandchildren Jeffrey, Anthony, Gina, Kevin, Matthew and Amanda Sanders; nieces Judy Clink and Barbara Ahlin; nephew Steve Rocca and brother-in-law Jack Rocca. She is also survived by her close friend, Carol Nicoletti. Leora lived in Morgan Hill for 58 years and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years.

He moved to the Santa Clara Valley in 1951 and has resided here since. He retired from the Norton Company of Santa Clara and enjoyed gardening and taking care of his small orchard. Vigil Monday, Jan. 12, 2008 – 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Mass Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 – 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, Gilroy. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilroy.
Gubser, Doris D., was born in Oklahoma on Oct. 7, 1921 and passed away peacefully on Jan. 7, 2009 at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Gubser; loving mother of Lucienne (David) Levine of San Jose and the late James Gubser; devoted grandmother of Joseph (Shannon) Levine and great grandmother of Noah Levine. Dearest sister of Lois Booth; dear sister-in-law of Lorraine Mitchell, Betty Dexter and Arlene Painter. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was an active member and past president of Beta Sigma Phi, Past President of Woman In Touch and also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She was also an advid traveler.
