James Joseph Gustaveson

James (Jimmy, Gus, Woody)Gustaveson passed away at home on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at age 42. Jimmy was born in Duarte, CA on December 7, 1966 to Gerald and Joanne Gustaveson of Temple City, CA. Jimmy attended St. Luke's Elementary, Bishop Amat High School, and graduated from UC Davis in 1990 with a degree in Psychology. He began working in Angels Camp as a counselor for teenagers, then moved on to Momentum for mental health patients followed by Starlight for juveniles, and continued on with Momentum in Palo Alto managing outpatient care. He is survived by his parents Joanne and Jerry Gustaveson,his wife Janina Gustaveson of 9 years, his three children Shawnie, Joey, and Maya,and his sister Jonna Dunne (Mike), and brother Jeff Gustaveson (Amber). He was a loving Uncle to Macey, Michael and D.J. Dunne, and Blake, A.J., and Samuel Gustaveson. Rosary has been held on Dec. 26 at 7:00 P.M. at Johnson's Mortuary in Morgan Hill and Funeral services were on Dec.27th at St. Catherine's at 10:00 A.M in Morgan Hill. Norman Garland Crain

Norman Garland Crain, 40, of Gilroy, lost his life on Dec. 10th, 2008. Norman leaves behind his mother, Stephanie Goodell, his father Larry Crain, his two daughters, Samantha and Danielle Crain, his brothers Matthew Crain and Tim Goodell. Also, his grandmother Terry Pickett, aunt Gina Pickett and aunt and uncle Cliff and Liz Crain. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend of 6 years, Chris Andrews.

Daniel Pedersen

Daniel Pedersen passed away on December 21, 2008 in Tulare, CA. He was born and raised in Gilroy and graduated from Gilroy High School. He was a WWII veteran. In 1977, he moved to Tulare to farm with his sons and grew Sunsweet prunes. He is survived by his sons Daniel and Donald of Tulare. His daughter Bobbie and son-in-law Charles Luke; grandchildren Sarah and Joshua all of Gilroy. His sister Ellen (Earl) Heinrich of Morgan Hill. His sister-in-law Reva Pedersen of Hollister; brother-in-law Reg (Jane) Holloway of San Jose. Long time friend Marian McBride of Bakersfield and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Viola; his brother Ben and twin sister Clara. Services will be Saturday December 27th at Habing Family Funeral Home. Viewing at 9:00 A.M. with services to follow at 10:00 A.M. No flowers, please. Donations to your favorite charity.

Helen Dillon passed away peacefully at home Friday evening. She is survived by her daughter Sandy Stroppa and grandsons Nick and Jason all of San Martin as well as brother, sisters and extended family in Indiana and Texas. Services pending.

Ronald Larry Griffin

Ronald L. "Ronnie" Griffin passed away in Hollister on Dec. 18th at the age of 65 years. Ronnie spent his formative years in Salinas, was a graduate of Salinas High School and upon graduation went to work in the construction trades for many years. In 1979, he entered the carpet business in Atascadero and spent a great part of his life in the floor covering business; not only in Atascadero, but in Salinas with his brother at Old Town Carpets, as well as in Gilroy. He moved from Gilroy in 1987 to establish Ron's Windows, Walls & Floors in Hollister. Ron was an avid softball player in the competitive fast pitch leagues for 20 plus years, as well a baseball and football coach during his sons younger years. He loved the out-of-doors hunting ducks and pheasants with his favorite Labrador Retrievers as well as deer and wild boar hunting. "He was devoted to his family, a big family guy", said his children, who enjoyed traveling in his motor home and camping throughout California. Ron was a member of the Laborers Union Local No. 297 of Salinas.
