Debbie Nunes passed away at the age of 42 in Hollister where she made her home for the past 22 years. She was born and raised in Morgan Hill and graduated from St. Catherine School in 1978 and Live Oak High School in 1984. Debbie went on to receive a BS in biology from the University of California at Davis. She is survived by her parents Carl and Barbara, her brother Craig and sister Cindy, and their spouses Connie and Chip, nephews Christopher and Jonathan and nieces Melissa, Mary, and Erica, many friends and extended family. Debbie worked for Seminis and Incotec in the seed research division and most recently worked at Hazel Hawkins Hospital where she derived much pleasure caring for her patients and building relationships with her hospital family. Debbie had a kind and giving heart and will be missed by all who loved her. Donations may be made in memory of Debbie to the San Jose Fire Fighters Burn Foundation to benefit burn survivors c/o Habing Family Funeral Home. Wife of Stanley J. Moniz for almost 69 years, mother of Stanley C. (Marjorie) Moniz, grandmother of Nickelle C. (Tim) Austin, John A. (Lori) Moniz, and great grandmother of Hannah, Taylor, and Natalie Austin, and Calvin and Alexander Moniz. She was a partner with her husband in their vineyard and they worked together from start to harvest for 48 years. They also partnered in managing industrial complexes for 29 years. Mildred enjoyed planting and working in her large vegetable garden as well as surrounding her home with beautiful flowers and plants. She also made time to bake pies and cakes and loved cooking for her family and many friends. She loved animals and birds and often raised orphans until they were ready to return back to the wild. A private service is being held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mildred's memory to the St. Francis of Assisi Animal Rescue in San Martin, CA, (408)683-0866. Nino died at his home in Turlock, CA after battling prostate cancer for the past 14 months. Nino was a native of Detroit, Michigan. He came to California in 1971 and opened Hollister's first Pizzeria in 1973. As a member of the Hollister Elks Lodge he made the World's largest pizza also in 1973. Nino was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. Nino took up woodworking as a hobby after moving to Turlock in eight years ago, and also worked part time at the Turlock Raleys store until last September He is survived by his spouse Kathleen Burke Imbronone whom he married on January 25, 1958; his children Nino Imbronone Jr., Melissa Bekker, Andrea Rovella, Kathleen Imbronone, Jennifer Imperatrice, Christine Rhodes, and Matthew Imbronone; his sons-in-law and daughter-in-law Mike Rovella, Pat Imperatrice, Collin Rhodes and Shannon Imbronone; his grandchildren, Nino Imbronone III, William and Kathleen Bekker; Paul, Michelle and Anthony Rovella, Donna McGrew; Marissa, Elizabeth and A.J. Garza; Briana Madrid; Melissa, Michaela, and Gianna Imperatrice; Chelsea, Sydney and Peyton Rhodes, Dillon and Wesley Sondgroth, Nashelle and Lexanne Imbronone; 5 great-grandchildren; his sisters Catherine Hixenbaugh and Deborah Smith; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mary and Milt Fredlung, Andrea and John Hayes, Brigid and John Sherwood, Tim & Linda Burke, Brian Burke and Kitty Burke; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Philip Imbronone, mother-in-law and father-in-law Andrea and Myles Burke Jr., brothers-in-law Myles Burke III, Kevin Burke and James Behen.
Grace Jane Greer passed away in Hollister at the age of 83. She was born in San Luis Obispo and moved to Hollister in 1926. She was a bookkeeper in the family owned auto parts business and was part owner. She was a graduate of San Benito High School, a member of The Grandmother's Club, a 50 year member of Athena Chapter Order of Eastern Star, liked gardening, cooking, spending time with her little dogs and playing cards and games with family and friends. She also attended St. Augustine's Anglican Church.
Jesse Martinez Cota passed away at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital on Friday Nov. 14th at the age of 61 years. Jesse was graduate of San Benito High School, class of 1966; was very active in the high school band. As a insurance agent in San Benito County Jesse wrote for many insurance companies. He was active with LuLac and the Make A Wish Foundation; had his own band - the Zigg Zagg Band which played thoroughout central California, and he could be often found at church on Sundays playing his saxaphone for services. Jesse organized a benefit dance at the Hollister Veterans Memorial Building---coordinating the music, food, and all other arrangements for the victims of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake which raised funds for those who needed help. He loved family gatherings, cooking, and being a coach of the Marvelous Mets Little League Baseball Team. Jesse was Korean War Veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Lynda Cota of Hollister; his children Robert and William Huertas of Hollister; grandchildren Robin, Anthony, Mikey, Savanna, and Christian Huertas; sisters Angie Painter of Hollister, Josie Ruiz of Colorado, Hope Ramos of Washington, Mary Reyes of Sacramento; brothers John Cota and Ralph Cota of Salinas, and Richard Cota of Gilroy; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Annette Scarlett.
Michael "Mike" D. Bautista passed away at Hazel Hawkins Hospital Saturday Nov. 15th at the age of 63 years. A native of Gilroy, CA and a graduate of Gilroy High School, Mike moved to San Benito County in the 1960's. He was a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the Old Mission San Juan Bautista Parish; and a former member of the Top Hatters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, survived by her children Rosie Beltran, Sally Navarro, Barbara DelVillar and Gilbert Navarro, 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Viewing Fri. from 10:00 A.M., funeral 1:00 P.M. both at Habing Family, Gilroy.
Florence was born June 29, 1917 in Kansas. She traveled to Morgan Hill, California with her two young children Jerry and Judy to make their home. She met and married Fred Price and they had a daughter, Linda.
