A Gilroy U.S. Postal Service driver will be awarded this for logging a million miles under his belt.
Antero Medeiros of Gilroy is one of 25 Bay Area postal drivers who have safely drove 1 million miles without ever leaving the city limits – the equivalent of driving coast-to-coast 334 times.
Medeiros will be honored at the 15th annual Million Mile Club awards ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Oakland Processing and Distribution Center, 1675 7th St., Oakland.
“Postal drivers are among the safest in the world,” said Post Office District Manager Balwant Grewal. “The remarkable achievement of our 25 drivers demonstrates how postal employees continue to deliver on the promise of delivering their best every day with care, courtesy and the concern for the safety of others.”
