Dear Editor,
I would like to thank Bob Burch for all his hard work in
organizing the Poker Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament held at the Senior
Center. It is the best kept secret in town. Where else can you go
from 10am to approximately 2:30 or 3pm for $15.
Dear Editor,

Donuts, sweet rolls, coffee and juice were available as we arrived. For lunch, we had sandwiches and pizza and had drinks throughout the day. The food and drinks were donated by local establishments, and the entry fee was given to the Senior Center or Gilroy Youth Center – whichever you desired.
I believe I speak for us ladies who are over 65 years young, the young men and women accepted us and make us feel welcomed.
A lady friend of mine is visually impaired. They accommodated her with Braille cards. She loves the game and looks forward to the many tournaments to come.
On Saturday, Aug. 27 another lady friend came from Oakdale to play. She also will come again. Bob, thank you for doing a terrific tournament.
For those who are bashful and fearful of the game, don’t be. I’m a newcomer to the game, and the volunteer dealers tell you when to check or bet. I love it. Looking forward to the next tournament.
