San Jose has the third highest rents in the state and Gilroy is in the middle of the pack, according to a study by ApartmentList.com. The median rent for a two bedroom apartment in San Jose is a jaw dropping $2,600 and $2,110 for one bedroom. In Gilroy a two bedroom goes for $1,830. Both have dropped slightly from last year.
In Bakersfield the median is $830. In Anaheim it’s $1,740.
Long Beach shows the fastest-growing rent prices in the state, with prices 6.1% higher than last year. One and two-bedrooms in Long Beach cost $1,390 and $2,000, respectively.
San Francisco has the highest rents at $4,610 for a two bedroom and $3,420 for a one bedroom. Los Angeles is second with $2,600 for two bedrooms and $1,870 for one.
