Nicole Holder and Savanna Brandon headed to the Bay Club Courtside in Los Gatos Nov. 23 for the first round of the Central Coast Section tennis doubles tournament.
Holder and Brandon played two unseeded players from Menlo-Atherton
High: Sally Carlaon/Julia Chang falling 6-0, 6-0.
“This team was really, really, really good with serves that could be located most anywhere, ground strokes with control, top spin and location, and volleys that were always were you were not,” wrote coach Ray Blagof to the tennis team in an email.
Blagof said he is proud of Holder and Brandon, just the honor to have qualified for this CCS tournament.
Blagof said he wasn’t sure the last time Gilroy qualified for CCS.
