With five rounds in the 40s, the Christopher High boys golf team captured its second consecutive Tri-County Athletic League Valley Division match victory, outscoring second-place North Salinas by 18 strokes Wednesday at Black Horse Golf Course.

The team score of 214 is the Cougars’ lowest this season. Alvarez (240), North Monterey County (250), Alisal (261) and Gilroy (304) rounds out the rest of the competition.

Tyson Hill carded the Cougars low round with a 40. Head coach Michael Hoshida said RJ Montez’s round of 41, which included two birdies, was his best of the season. Peter Hilkene and Jaeshawn Hoenck both shot 43, Steven Lerma recorded a 47 and Kurt Johnson a 57.

Alvarez’s Christian Ibadlit was the match’s medalist with his 39.

The final TCAL match is April 23 at Gilroy Golf Course.
