Productions will hold two fundraisers today as part of their
drive to support South Valley Pregnancy Care and bring musicians to
the True Love Waits Conference, scheduled for February 2005.
The first event, a golf tournament at the Gilroy Municipal Golf
Course, will start at 11:30 AM, said organizer John Hegner.
“3 Nails” Productions will hold two fundraisers today as part of their drive to support South Valley Pregnancy Care and bring musicians to the True Love Waits Conference, scheduled for February 2005.
The first event, a golf tournament at the Gilroy Municipal Golf Course, will start at 11:30 AM, said organizer John Hegner. The $65 entry fee will cover cart rental and balls, and prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place among the four-man (or woman) teams. Other prize categories include longest drive and closest to the pins.
If you don’t feel like cooking, stop by First Baptist Church on Wren Ave. in Gilroy tonight. From 5-7 PM they’ll be serving lemon-pepper roast chicken with bread, salad, and dessert for just $8.50 per person. Kids 4-12 are $5, and tikes under four are free.
“We can feed 80,” said Hegner. “We’re hoping to over-do ourselves.”
If you’re not hungry, come by for the raffle from 6:30-7. Tickets are $2 each.
“We have some signed hockey pucks from the Sharks, a framed and autographed photo of Tiger Woods, a beauty package to a local salon, gift certificates to Starbucks, a $50 gift certificate for Wal-Mart – we’ve got a lot,” said Hegner.
True Love Waits is a Christian-based conference that educates teens on pregnancy issues while encouraging them to choose abstinence until marriage. Participants sign contracts promising to wait on sex until they are legally wed.
Last year’s gathering attracted 1,000 teens, and Hegner says the group expects to meet the same level this year.
