CALLER 2: Hey, I thought I saw Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero in the ring the other night on Fox Sports Net. What’s the deal, did he have another fight?
GREEN PHONE: Caller, the Phone thinks you were suffering from a little late-night delirium. Which is fine, we all do. The fight you saw was a re-airing of the Ghost’s Dec. 9 NABF featherweight championship bout against Cesar Figueroa. If you recall, the deal for a July 16 fight at Kezar Pavilion fell through and, as of right now, another fight for Guerrero has yet to be scheduled. However, the Ghost’s publicist Mario Serrano said the Guerrero team is aiming to get their fighter back in the ring for a bout in late August or early September. Recently, the Ghost has been held back by a minor elbow injury, but he’ll be starting camp the first week of August.
