I want the truth!
CALLER: “Thank you for choosing Adrian Melendez as the (GHS football) Defensive Player of the Week! But I think the comment of, “just as long as he doesn’t get any more personal fouls like he did in the first game against Mitty. The penalty wiped away a punt return for a touchdown by Dante Fullard, making GHS coach Rich Hammond livid to say the least,” needs to be corrected. After reviewing film, Coach Hammond himself agrees he made a mistake and Adrian was not the person who caused the penalty … I think it needs to be known that Adrian was NOT the cause of that penalty and is a GREAT football player!”
Green Phone: Dear I want the truth!
Green Phone went to Hammond and found out that, yes, after reviewing the game tape, coaches couldn’t find an infraction by Melendez on the play. Taking that into consideration, there is no denying that Melendez has had two very good games to begin the year. An interception to help close out Mitty and then three stellar plays in the second half at Atascadero have him on track to be one the team’s defensive leaders.
