Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill is celebrating its 80th anniversary of producing wines in South Valley with a Grand Anniversary Celebration.
The event, held May 21 from 4 to 9pm, will cap a week-long celebration of three generations of wine making.
Winery founders Emilio and Emilia Guglielmo and George W. and Madeline Guglielmo will be honored with a special bronze plaque in the Piazza d’Madellena.
The evening will feature “a walk through Italy” with specialty food stations serving up Italian entrees. Wine samples will be available, and there will be live Italian music.
Throughout the week, visitors to the Heritage Room can view family photos and historic shots of the winery.
There will be an artist’s gallery, showcasing the talents of the local art community.
For Guglielmo’s Wine Group members, a tasting of older vintage library wines will be held on May 17 and a formal dinner with the Guglielmo family will be on May 19.
Tickets for Saturday’s event are $55 each, and reservations are required.
Tickets include the reception, dinner and coupons for three glasses of wine. Additional coupons will be available for purchase.
Other events include the bottling your own wine to the sound of Carmello Sarcone’s Italian mandolin.
From 10am to 3pm on May 14, Guglielmo Winery invites the public to fill bottles with Cavalcade Cellar Red, available only at the event.
Because you bring your own bottle and bottle the wine yourself, the cost for the wine is less.
The event also includes grilled Italian sausages and salami as well as assorted bread and cheese.
