The Santa Clara County Public Health Department will hold several free vaccination clinics Saturday and Sunday. A clinic at Valley Health Center, 7475 Camino Arroyo in Gilroy is scheduled for Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As the weather forecast calls for rain all weekend, health officials ask the public not to arrive to any of the seven clinics throughout the county before 7 a.m. At a clinic at the county fairgrounds site Saturday, lines will not begin forming until 7 a.m., and the parking lot will be closed until that time.
For this weekend’s clinics, health officials will limit the vaccinations only to the following groups of high-risk patients:
-Pregnant women
-Children and young adults between the ages of 6 months and 24 years
-People who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months
-Adults between the ages of 25 and 64 years who have medical conditions that put them at risk for serious illness or death from the virus commonly known as swine flu virus
-Health care and emergency service workers
