Uniformed officers from the California Highway Patrol will host an Oct. 28 Coffee With A Cop event at Starbucks, 251 Vineyard Town Center in Morgan Hill. Members of the public are invited to meet with officers in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, enjoy coffee and build relationships, reads a press release from the Hollister-Gilroy CHP office.

The Oct. 28 event begins at 2pm. “Coffee With A Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about our department’s work in south Santa Clara County neighborhoods,” the CHP press release states.

Coffee With A Cop is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Dept. of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events take place across the country as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
