Rock out with SV Civic Theatre
Gilroy – Teens will be performing Schoolhouse Rock, based on the award winning ABC-TV educational animated series directed by Carol Harris produced by Tracy VanGundy and Dave Leon with musical direction by Carol Harris.
The show opens Friday, March 9 and runs at 8pm Fridays and Saturdays March 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31. There will be two matinees at 2pm, March 17 and 24 (ASL Interpreter at this performance). All shows will be held at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, 17090 Monterey Road.

VNA grief support group meets
Gilroy – Are you having difficulty coping with the death of a loved one? Do you feel as if the pain will never go away? You are not alone, and help is available. The Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice and the Kaiser Gilroy Medical Center have partnered together to provide free and confidential grief support groups to all community members in need.
Beginning March 12, group meetings will be held the second Monday of every month from 4:30 to 6pm at the Kaiser Gilroy Medical Center in conference room 3 and 4.

GHS, San Jose Giants team up
Gilroy – GHS Baseball has set up a fundraiser with he help of the San Jose Giants. The event is April 14 which is opening weekend for the Giants and is also GHS athletics night at the Municipal Stadium. Tickets t are on sale for $5, the tickets are normally $9. Eighty percent of the $5 goes to GHS athletics. The game is at 5pm and there is a firework show afterward. Tickets can be purchased from any GHS baseball, softball and football players, at GHS baseball games or by calling 710-1354.
Coyote Creek bird walk
Morgan Hill – A series of bird walks led by Jane Haley, a National Park Service docent for 20 years and Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center volunteer, began in January at Coyote Creek, north of Morgan Hill, but others are planned.
Bird walks will be Saturday and March 31. Due to the terrain, these walks are not recommended for young children. The programs are free, space is limited and reservations are required.

Enjoy ‘Path of the Padres’ hike
Los Banos – The staff at San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area will be leading the popular “Path of the Padres” hikes on most Saturdays and Sundays starting this weekend and continuing through April 29. These hikes are open to the public, ages 6 and older, by advance reservation only. The hike begins at the Los Banos Creek Reservoir boat launch ramp at 8am and returns about 3:30pm. A pontoon boat carries passengers for about 30 to 40 minutes to the west end of the reservoir. Along the way, short stops are made so the hikers can observe wildlife along the shoreline. The group disembarks at the west end of the reservoir for a five mile round-trip hike. It is moderately strenuous and takes about five hours.
