Your choice of front page stories Tuesday about the fatal car accident of 20-year-old Jeremy Cooner broke my heart. I could hardly bear to look at the picture of his family and the despair they were feeling at the accident scene. That picture was much too personal to put on the front page of the town newspaper. I hope they will excuse The Dispatch for invading their privacy at such a painful moment.

Exactly four years ago my daughters best friend was killed in a tragic car accident at the age of 19. The pain and devastating sense of loss and helplessness are overwhelming when you lose someone that young so suddenly and unexpectedly.

My heart goes out to Jeremy’s family and my prayers are with them. May God give them the strength to get through the dark and heart-wrenching days ahead.
