Intelligent Design’
… what about my Corgie ‘RV’?
Dear Editor,
Thank you Joseph G. McCormack for your simplified versions of intelligent design and evolution. However, I’m a bit confused. You state there is overwhelming evidence for intelligent design but later claim that; “we (evolutionists) often mislead people by confusing adaptation with evolution.” So which side are you on?” Is this what you mean by “shucking and jiving?”
How you can claim, “the concept of evolution is the greatest fraud and hoax ever perpetrated upon Western civilization.” Do you think it’s any worse than forcing the concept of algebra upon students?
The evidence you supplied to discredit evolution (adaptation) was a bit outdated. I suggest you update your mid-1800’s spotted moth study and read some current articles such as those published in Scientific American. And, how can you use a statement made by a German rocket scientist, “(design and order in the universe is necessary to allow the launching and recovery of satellites)” as evidence for intelligent design. Yes, human intelligent design. I’m still scratching my head over this example.
You say if we open our eyes “there is evidence for intelligent design everywhere.” Right now I am looking at my beautiful Corgie (a dog). He is well fit, but his belly almost drags on the ground because of his short legs and he has a hard time lying on his favorite couch because of his long body. I nicknamed him “RV” and he seems to have adapted to his world. If this is intelligent design, I will keep on believing as stated by you, “this beautiful world arose out of a primordial slime billions (not millions) of years ago when two molecules accidentally fused to create life.”
Most readers are likely more concerned about how to adapt to high gas prices.
