A Verizon wireless data network was down across the Bay Area, leaving thousands without Internet access, according to a customer service representative at South Valley Internet.
The network went down about 7 a.m. this morning in all of Gilroy, parts of San Jose, Los Gatos and in Novato. Morgan Hill is unaffected.
It was back online about 12:30 p.m., according to South Valley Internet.
“Verizon did fix it, but we don’t know what the problem was actually,” said Kathleen Drake, a customer service representative with South Valley Internet.
