Joseph F. Pires., 89 of Gustine, passed away in Yuma, Arizona on April 26, 2011.
He was born on February 3, 1922, in Faial, Portugal. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Brad Pires in 1988.
Joseph was a long time resident of Morgan Hill, had many friends and was active in the community, then moved to the West Side in 1965.
He enjoyed flying, building and construction, farming, fishing, gardening, animals and politics.
Joseph is survived by his two sons Ronald Pires of Redding and David Pires of Gustine and three daughters Kathleen Lucas of Gustine, Janice Makar of Carnegie, PA and Andrea Lynne Hawkins of Yuma, AZ. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend the grave side memorial service which will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, 250 Spring Ave., Morgan Hill on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to their local Animal Shelter or S.P.C.A.
