Gilroy – Junior Gutierrez went 3-for-3 and pitched an eight-hitter Friday as Dee’z Nutz-Interstate Fence upset Jus 2 Party 7-1 in Men’s BB league adult softball play at Christmas Hill Park.

The win lifted the Fence into a four-way tie for first place in the six-team league. Fence, Party, Team Talamo Foods and Dutchman’s Pizza each are at 2-1 halfway through the first half of the season.

Guillermo Gamboa went 2-for-3 and scored one Dee’z-Interstate run. Gabe Ponce scored twice for the winners. Benji Dequin singled and doubled, scoring the lone Party run.

Team Talamo jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on to defeat Dutchman’s Pizza `13-7.

Tomas Carrillo and Raul Bueno each homered in the Team Talamo fifth inning. Abel Jacquez went 3-for-3, Art Del Valle 3-for-4 for Team Talamo. Mike Howe went 4-for-4 and Benjie Casarez singled and tripled for Dutchman’s Pizza.

Czar Construction posted eight runs in the first inning on the way to a 19-13 nod over Bad News.

Mario Bena hit a three-run home run and Brian Jones clubbed a two-run triple for Czar in the first frame. Benny Sanchez went 5-for-5 and Ricky Gonzalez 4-for-4 for the Builders. Ricky Salinas went 5-for-5, Daniel Salinas was 4-for-5 for Bad News.

Gamers In Control moved to 3-0 Friday with a 20-9 decision over Los Pistoleros in Men’s D League action at Las Animas Park.

Ernesto Salinas went 4-for-5 and Nathan Avila stroked a three-run home run to pace the Gamers offense. Rick Gonzalez went 4-for-5 for the winners, while Tito Flores singled and tripled for Los Pistoleros (2-1).

The VFW Vets surprised Dr. Tile 14-5 behind three hits apiece from Joe Cano and Robert Armendariz.

Danny Melendez drove in three Vets runs with a homer, single and sacrifice fly. Billy Hanna went 2-for-2 for 2-1 Dr. Tile.

Team Hair FX rushed by the Players 21-5 as Marc Rodriguez roped a three-run double and two-run single, Gary Barboa singled and doubled for the Players.
