Kathryn Betty Downing, age 51, passed away on Jan. 9 in Nice, California. A resident of Modesto, she lived in Nice for the past two years caring for her mother.
Born in Palo Alto on Oct. 2, 1951, Kathryn lived in San Martin for 41 years. She graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill during 1969. She was a terrific mother and friend to many.
She is survived by her mother, Betty Blomquist of Nice; husband, Ken Downing of Modesto; sons Wayne Downing of Merced and Brett Downing of Nice; brothers Wally Blomquist of Sanger and Greg Blomquist of Morgan Hill. She is also remembered by a special few who include Kim Cunningham of Merced, Debbie Phillips of Nice and Marlayna Teschner of Lakeport.
