Led by Manny Avila’s five goals, the Christopher High lacrosse team evened its early season record with a 9-8 victory over host Santa Cruz on Friday night.
Patrick Mank, Yovany Jimenez, DJ Campos and Mikey Pernick also tallied for the 1-1 Cougars, who play at Aptos on Tuesday night. Jeremy Botill (2), Campos and Mank were credited with assists.
Game time Tuesday is 7 p.m.
