Mr. Garza was born Dec. 22, 1934 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. He worked for the Railroad Pacific in Mexico for 20 years. Lazaro married Estelle Bernal in 1954 and came to live in Gilroy in 1971. He worked for Gilroy Foods’ Gentry Plant for 20 years.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife of 50 years Estelle Garza and their nine children and their spouses: Judy Lizarraga and husband Esteban, of Cualican, Mexico; Eleazar Garza and wife Esther, of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico; Martha Martinez; Esther Trejo and husband Oscar; Lazaro Garza and fiancé Lorraine Cabrera; Ismael Garza and wife Leticia, all of Gilroy; Enrique Garza and companion Connie; Dina Garza and husband Francisco; Diana Garza and companion Patricio Parra, all of Tucson, Ariz.
He is also survived by his 30 grandchildren: Paulo and Cynthia Perez; Carla Trejo; Vanessa and Bianca Garza; Elizabeth, Jessica and Isaac Garza; Carlos Martinez; Tania and Ruben Ortega; Isabel, Melissa, Ilea, Brianna and Esmeralda Garza, all of Gilroy; Adrianne Aviles, of Las Vegas, Nev.; Frederico Martinez; Carlos Benavidas; Javier, Omar, Aaron and Angel Gallindo; Xavier Garza and Arlene Parra, all of Tucson; Laura, Claudia and Erika Lizarraga, of San Louis; Patty and Angelica Garza, of Nogales.
Mr. Garza is also survived by his five great-grandchildren: Emilee Lampkin Garza and Monique Esparza, of Gilroy, Kiara Martinez, of Tucson; Victor, Adriane and Arianna Aviles, of Las Vegas. He is also survived by his sister Eulalia Garza de Ramirez and two brothers: Marcos and Eduardo Garza, all of Mexico; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Garza was a kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered.
Funeral services were held in Nogales.
