I am shocked and discouraged by the Sept. 5 opinion pieces by Ron Kirkish and Eric Howard, and by the Dispatch’s decision to feature two bombastic attacks in a single issue.
I’ve met Ron on a couple of occasions and know him to be sincere and dedicated to righting wrongs. I’ve never met Eric. I believe the wrongs they write about are inflated, just as a former president inflates issues—will we now hear that Rebeca has smuggled in millions of Haitian immigrants to eat her neighbors’ dogs?
The incident at that Halloween party was tragic, there’s no question about that, but to suggest Rebeca displayed “extremely poor behavior and bad judgment” flies in the face of the often-expressed admiration many people have for her.
