Dear Editor,
Well, this expert disagrees with the “press release reporting” you published today on the Bullet Train. So, why do we only get one side of the issue? Kind of reminds me of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce doing a presentation on the Bullet Train by having only Bullet Train proponents.
Read the expert report, “Big Trouble for California’s $66 Billion Train: Even More for the ‘Entire System’ Promised Voters in 2008,” understates the total cost of construction by about $100 billion if you use the current cost/mile of construction of rail commute systems in California like the recent SF MTA extension.
Then, why no mention of the annual operating subsidy, which the newspaper in Long Beach, California reported to be near $4 billion year?
