Friday Sept. 9th was a perfect day! It was awesome to see everyone having such a wonderful time at the “One for Brian” golf tournament and dinner. Kathy and I continue to be humbled, amazed and overwhelmed by the incredible support from the community, friends and family.
Thank you so much to everyone who planned, volunteered, supported, sponsored and participated in the event.
As a fundraiser the event was an overwhelming success, raising more than $30,000 toward the cost of my cancer treatments. As a community celebration the day was off the charts. This was one of those “Only in Gilroy” moments that we’ll always cherish.
To date we have raised an incredible $76,874.63 which puts us beyond our original fundraising goal. It’s so wonderful and yet so hard to believe that we’ve come that far in just a few months. Not having to worry about how to pay for my treatments is such a blessing. Because we’ve surpassed that milestone, the Pasta Dinner Fundraiser originally planned for Oct. 8 has been postponed. We may revisit it after the first of the year if there is a further need. Thank you to those who have already done so much planning and legwork to get that dinner organized.
Kathy and I are very proud to call Gilroy home, and are eternally grateful for all of your support. Thank you!!
