Civic vision hailed

I recommend Greg Bozzo for Gilroy Mayor because he is a natural leader rather than a professional politician. Greg Bozzo has the management skills and talents needed to lead our community.

Greg Bozzo is bilingual and a good listener who makes an effort to understand the views of other people. When I worked with Greg on the city’s housing and neighborhood advisory committee, he was wise, fair and well-balanced in his discussions and votes.

As a business owner, employer and landscape contractor Greg Bozzo understands how important it is for the City of Gilroy to have a “Buy Local” policy and act on it. The city spends millions of dollars on out-of-town consultants, suppliers and contractors so that money never returns to our local economy.

In addition to years of successful leadership of the Gilroy Garlic Festival, Greg is active in the Gilroy Rodeo and the Gilroy community garden. He provides land and equipment for the new neighborhood community garden in the industrial area.

As a downtown business owner, I support Greg Bozzo for mayor because he understands the city’s outdated policies and procedures can prevent the success of businesses and homeowners. Greg has a civic vision and approach that will attract private and public investment to make Gilroy a better place.

I encourage all my friends and neighbors to vote for Greg Bozzo for mayor.

Proud of her

Thank goodness Mayor Blankley is running for reelection. We need her continued leadership to see through Sharks Ice Gilroy, to keep Gilroy on the map with unprecedented representation at CalTrain and VTA, to keep Gilroy’s street repair program going, to push back on housing growth where jobs and transportation options are not growing proportionately, and to improve city service levels that are declining due to statewide housing mandates.

As housing is planned farther and farther away from job centers and where transportation infrastructure does not exist, we can expect even worse traffic congestion. We need her strong representation for Gilroy and her dedication to looking out for Gilroy’s interests. She’s not afraid to stand up to pressure and to do what’s right.

She gets nothing for herself out of being our Mayor beyond the gratification we all feel when we give back to causes we hold dear.

I am so proud of her! I support Mayor Blankley for re-election.
