The Gilroy Public Library will be hosting a free legal services fair for South County residents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday June 15. The Gilroy Public Library is located at 350 W. Sixth St. in Gilroy.
The event is an opportunity for residents of the South Santa Clara County community to learn about the many free legal services that are open to them. Trained attorneys will be on hand to offer on-the-spot advice, referrals or legal information, according to a press release from the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley.
Taking part in the event will be the Fair Housing Law Project; Asian Law Alliance; Alexander Community Law Center; Bay Area Legal Aid; Pro Bono Project; Project Sentinel; and Senior Adults Legal Assistance.
The schedule for advice sessions is as follows:
-10 a.m. to noon – Evictions and other housing law, Mental Health Law, Government Benefits, Mortgage and Foreclosures, Senior Law, Immigration Law and Consumer Law.
-11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Landlord/Tenant conflicts, Mortgages and Foreclosures and Government Benefits.
-Noon to 2 p.m. – Eviction and Housing Law, Children’s Law, Employment Law and Immigration Law.
Other areas of law can be covered if needed and people shouldn’t worry if they can’t make the time for their desired advice session since appointments are available.
