Dear Editor:

I am writing in response to the “Little League” letter posted earlier this week. I disagree with Ms. Gonzalez’s when she says “… the league president isn’t doing anything about it.”

The Little League president is not responsible for the correcting the poor behavior of a small percentage of parents and coaches. She can oversee them and warn them when necessary, but why should the president be held responsible for the behavior of adults?

Throughout this season, I have seen the Little League president talking to parents, umpires, and coaches before, during, and after games to ensure rules are followed and problems addressed. The Little League president has done an outstanding job this year and should be commended for VOLUNTEERING for a huge undertaking that few would or could take on as successfully as she has.
