The hit of the game went to Justin Hale who had a hard-hit ball double. Ethan Wrenn had a single and Hector Jimenez also got a hit. Defensively, Kyle Vasquez had a fantastic catch on a deep hit ball out in center field. All three of the Red Sox pitchers did a good job up against the league’s best team Saturday. Justin Hale pitched three innings and had five strikeouts. Daniel Vatuone pitched two innings and had three strikeouts, and Brendan Reimer pitched the last inning and had two strikeouts.

Red Sox 13, A’s 6

The Red Sox racked up 11 hits in this game. Joe Vanni led the charge going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Justin Hale was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Daniel Vatuone, Ethan Wrenn and Ryan Rangel contributed with hits and RBIs as well. Vatuone earned the defensive play of the game with his nice catch at third base to get the team out of a bases-loaded jam. Both Red Sox pitchers did well. Joe Vanni pitched the first three innings with three strikeouts, and Brendan Reimer pitched the last three with four strikeouts. Reimer struck out the side in the fourth inning. “The Red Sox Players have so much potential,” said coach Vic Vanni. “I’m looking forward to seeing all that potential really come together at once.”

Boys’ A

Red Sox vs. Giants (No score reported)

Andrew Miner went 3-for-3 and Keanu Dominguez went 2-for-2. Nathen Camacho, Noah Vasquez, Miner and Peter Macedo had the four RBIs in the game, driving in Kailo Castro, Paulo Borba Jr., Alex Garcia and Grant Morley. Defensively, Tyler Galloway caught a fast ball flying toward right field and threw it to second, where Macedo lobbed it back to Borba Jr. for a force out on first.

Cardinals vs. A’s (No Score reported)

Dylan Holler went 4-for-4. Payton Mitchell and Nicholas Jackson both went 3-for-3. Zachary Soled had a great effort at third by sliding under a tag. Defensively, in the first inning, Lucas Schmidt turned a double play unassisted by catching a fly ball and catching the third-base runner off the bag. Herbie LeBlanc also caught a fly ball in the third inning.

Boys’ AA

Giants vs. Red Sox (No score reported)

Brendan Lerma, Mike Burns and Joel Gonzalez each hit doubles. Hiram Rodriguez, Kade McDermott, Anthony Bollendorf, Dallas Wilson and Jonathan Large had singles.

Defensively, Jimmy Lemberger played a strong game at first base, fielding four fly balls. Anthony Bollendorf and Gonzalez each had putouts at second base. Gonzalez also made his pitching debut, pitching two innings with three strikeouts. Large came on in relief and recorded four strikeouts.

“The Red Sox and the Giants played a great defensive and offensive game. It was exciting to watch,” the coach said.

Cubs vs. Angels (No Score reported)

Brevin Zollinger and Brian Lowery had strong hits for the Cubs during Saturday’s game, and Brian Easton and Dillon MacFarland provided the offense for the Angels. Darius Jones had a triple. Defensively, David Esquivel made a nice catch in left field for the Cubs. Arizona Trujillo and Easton both caught fly balls for the Angels. Zollinger pitched two innings and had six strikeouts for the Cubs, and Max Kent pitched three innings and had seven strikeouts.

Easton pitched three innings for the Angels and had seven strikeouts. Jones pitched the final two innings and had five strikeouts.
