GILROY – Darren Santos had the A’s number, tossing a no-hitter to lead his Rangers to a 5-0 win in Gilroy Little League American Majors action Monday.
Santos needed only 64 pitches to go the distance, striking out 14 in six innings without surrendering a walk.
The hurler was supported by a strong defensive effort by his Rangers teammates, Anthonee Bartholic, Chris Spohr, Eric Heiser and Julian Flores.
Sam Kent, Max Kent, Bartholic and Santos helped the Rangers’ offensive cause with singles.
A’s starting pitcher Herbie LeBlanc posted seven strikeouts and Jimmy Lemberger fanned four in relief.
