Stop the Violence Rally, March

Gilroy – Victory Outreach, local businesses, organizations, churches and community members present Stop the Violence and Drugs March and Rally Saturday.

It includes community resources, job opportunities, music, entertainment, food, jump houses, face painting, prizes and more.March begins at 11am at Forest Park, rally and activities begin at 1pm at San Ysidro Park.

Art, Wine, Food and Music!

Gilroy – Treat your palate to delectable food and award winning wines at the Third Annual Gilroy Art & Wine Festival, from 11am to 6pm, Saturday, in downtown Gilroy. Admission and parking is free. This event showcases Santa Clara County Wineries.

In addition, festival attendees can view the Gilroy Arts & Culture exhibit and the Young Artists Show at the historic Willey Cultural Center.

Fundraiser Aids Adult Day Care

San Jose – Live Oak Adult Day Services will host a gala fundraising event from 6 to 11pm Saturday, at Bella Mia Restaurant, 58 So. First St., San Jose.

Proceeds benefit frail and dependent seniors who attend the specialized adult day care program at Live Oak’s five centers.

The nonprofit agency has been serving disabled, at-risk seniors since 1983. Donations are $100 per person and parking is free.

Blessing of the Animals

Gilroy – A Blessing of the Animals will be held at 10am Saturday at St. Stephen’s church, 651 Broadway. Another will be held from noon to 2pm Sunday at Garden Accents, 11155 Lena Ave., Gilroy. $2 for a hot dog lunch.

GHS Fall Choir Concert

Gilroy – Gilroy High School Choral Program presents the Fall choir concert at 7:30pm Wednesday and Thursday, at St. Mary’s Church, First and Monterey streets.

Doors open at 7pm, tickets are $3 and available at the door. Proceeds go toward the choir’s transportation fund.

The program features five choirs: men’s chorus, women’s chorus, concert choir, concerto delle donne and chamber singers.

SV Symphony Kicks off Season

Gilroy – The South Valley Symphony’s 34th season of classical and contemporary music, kicks off with the first concert Romantic Masterworks, at 7:30pm, Saturday, at the Gavilan College Theater.

Ticket prices are $20, $15, and $10.

Donate Blood, Give Life
