Remembrance set for Cydney Casper

Gilroy – The city will host a gathering today to celebrate the life of Cydney Casper, a city planner who died in a motorcycle accident earlier this month.

In addition to developing close ties to colleagues in the city’s planning department, she worked closely with countless people involved in the city’s development process. In her seven years in Gilroy, Casper worked on some of the city’s most controversial and far-reaching growth policies and development projects.

The city is inviting employees, friends and any member of the public to gather between 5 and 6pm Friday to share stories about Casper’s life and contributions. The gathering takes place in council chambers at City Hall, 7351 Rosanna St.

Throughout Santa Clara County, four to five unattended running cars are stolen each day. The Sheriff’s Office advises sitting inside your car while you warm it up in the morning and never leave a running vehicle unattended.
