Dear Editor,

My experience with the employees of the Gilroy Post Office was often bad rather than good. Long lines at the post office while the clerks take their time – and when you finally get to the counter you are made to feel like they’re doing you a favor.

The mail delivery at my parent’s house is always late in the afternoon, sometimes early afternoon. They are constantly receiving not only neighbors mail but mail addressed to a different street.

My mother had to plant bushes on the corner of her front yard to prevent the mail carrier from cutting across the lawn. Perhaps the Gilroy postmaster wants the people of Gilroy to use other means of delivery for their mail so that the postal clerks have less to do and in the end that would really improve efficiency. Oh, yes, I and my parents have complained … corrections are made but they don’t last.

I live in Fremont now and my experiences with the post offices in Fremont are the opposite.
