The red carpet has been rolled out for the stars of the South
Valley Civic Theatre. The theater held its annual Member’s Choice
Awards show on Aug. 7, in the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse,
where it presented awards for a variety of categories for the
2003-2004 theater season.
The red carpet has been rolled out for the stars of the South Valley Civic Theatre. The theater held its annual Member’s Choice Awards show on Aug. 7, in the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, where it presented awards for a variety of categories for the 2003-2004 theater season.
SVCT members receive ballots several weeks in advance of the awards show with the nominees on them, and the ballots are mailed back and votes counted by the show’s producers.
This year’s awards show was produced by Becky Kaiser of Morgan Hill and Joy Reynolds of Gilroy, and emceed by Frank, Del and Kathryn McGill of Gilroy. It featured performances of select scenes from the previous season’s shows as well as a preview of the first show of the upcoming 2004-2005 season, “Moon Over
Buffalo,” opening tonight.
The 2004-2005 season will also feature a teen show, “Once Upon a Mattress” in the fall, “Honk” in January, the “Fantasticks” in April, and a children’s show, “Aladdin” next June.
SVCT is a nonprofit organization that has been putting on shows in the area for more than 33 years.
