Police arrested a 25-year-old Morgan Hill man after a shopper reported seeing a man punch a woman then drag her into a car.

Constante Miel Dulay was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of false imprisonment and felony domestic violence. The incident began about 9 a.m. that morning when a witness in the Gilroy Target parking lot reported the license number of the man seen hitting the woman.

Gilroy police tracked the license to a residence in Morgan Hill where Morgan Hill police detained the man. Gilroy police arrested Dulay without incident.

The woman was found safe, but did suffer a minor injury that may be related to the assault, police said.
