Maria Teresa Salinas died Tuesday morning, Sept. 14, 2004, at
the Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollister. She was 67.
Maria Teresa Salinas died Tuesday morning, Sept. 14, 2004, at the Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollister. She was 67.
Born in Monterey, Mexico, May 27, 1937, she has been a resident of Hollister for the past 30 years. Maria had worked many years for the Watsonville cannery before working at a local cannery. She had worked also for local convalescent homes including Hazel Hawkins Southside and was a certified nurses assistant.
She is survived by her husband, Marin of Hollister; son, Adolf Salinas and wife Maria Vasquez; Mario Salinas and wife Margaret; daughter, Linda Vasquez and husband Juan; and Michael Salinas, all of Hollister. She was the daughter of Maria “Concha” Garza of Watsonville and the late Herminio Garza; sister of Chavelo Garza and Paz G. Torres, both of Watsonville, Blanca and Sergio Garza, both of Hollister; grandmother of Nathan, Anthony, Elyssa Vasquez, Sommer Lyn Salinas, Autumn Rose Salinas, Lanette Vasquez and Adam Lamberson, all of Hollister, and the late Nicole D. Salinas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at the Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home after 3pm Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, with a Rosary to be held at 7pm that evening.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30am, Friday at the funeral home, then proceed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a funeral Mass at 10am.
Burial and graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
