Marlaise Heinze died quietly on Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Saint Louise Hospital in Gilroy.
She was 91.
Born on April 2, 1913, to August and H. Ester Fenske, in St. Paul, Minn., where she was active in the Campfire Girls of America. She reached the rank of Torchbearer and remained active as a group leader for several years. She was also a long time member of both the St. Paul and Minnesota Archery Association and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the St. Paul Newcomers Club and attended the University of Minnesota and was a member of Alpha Chi Delta sorority.
After moving to Morgan Hill in 1979, she became a Member of the Morgan Hill Flower Lovers, from whom she received several awards, and Women in Touch. She was a parishioner of the United Presbyterian Church of Morgan Hill and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She also adored cats in every way, and baby-sat for them for many years.
Mrs. Heinze is survived by her stepchildren, Ruth Galvan of Elk Grove and Ed Heinze of Riverside; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren too numerous to mention and cousin, Ina Dahlen of St. Paul. She was loved and be will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her Arley, her husband of 25 years, in December. She was previously married to Clay Olsen from 1936 until his death in 1974.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the United Presbyterian Church of Morgan Hill.
