Mary Anne Wright Giacalone passed away peacefully on August 23, 2012, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Mary Anne was born to Alfred and Thelma Wright on August 18, 1941, in San Diego, CA.
In 1945. Mary Anne moved with her family to San Jose, CA and attended St. Leo’s grammar school. Upon graduating from St. Leo’s, she attended Notre Dame High School in San Jose and college of Notre Dame, Belmont where she met Anthony Thomas Giacalone her devoted husband of 49 years.
Mary Anne was a devoted mother to four children, Anthony Joseph Giacalone, Vincent Robert Giacalone, Lisa Ann Giacalone-Burns, and Paul Stephen Giacalone and two daughters-in-law, Lisa Perales Giacalone and Jaime Vatuone Giacalone.
Mary Anne was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, the lights of her life; Vincent Giacalone, Katie Burns, Marcello Giacalone, Michael Burns, Vanessa Giacalone, Anthony Burns, Nalecia Hauser and Dominic Giacalone. She was also sister-in-law, aunt and best friend to many others.
In addition to raising her children, Mary Anne worked in real estate for over 15 years and spent her recent years as a dedicated yard duty supervisor at St. Mary’s School. She was known as “Nana” to all of the kids.
The family is extremely grateful to all who helped care for her over the past few months.
A Vigil will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.at 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 10:00 A.M., at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. Reception to follow.
