On Monday, February 21, 2011, our beloved Mary Elizabeth left us all too soon to join the angels in Heaven; she left this world peacefully and surrounded by her cherished family.
Mary was born on July 10, 1931, in Oklahoma to George and Lillian McClain and was one of nine daughters. She moved to San Jose, California, where she met and married her beloved husband Norman Silva to whom she was married for 65 years. She worked 37 years for the Gilroy Unified School District where she started as a bus driver and worked her way up to Head of Transportation.
Family was the most important thing in Mary’s life and she is survived by not only her husband Norman Silva, but by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Richard Arriola, Daughter Wendy Santos, grandchildren Julie and John Martin, Lorie Camino, Michael and Amanda Camino, Sheryl and Chris Sheer, Sabrina and Allen Boyd, Kristen Arriola and Nicholas Santos as well as Great Grandchildren Kaitlynn Pugh, Hailey Martin, Mykenzie Camino, Allen Boyd Jr., Dakota Ortiz, Zoie Camino, Brendan Boyd, Carson Boyd and a soon to be born Great Grandaughter. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many family friends.
A Visitation will begin Thursday, February 24, 2011, at 1:00 P.M, with Funeral Services at 6:30 P.M. both at Habing Family Funeral Home.
Graveside services will take place on Friday, February 25, 2011, at 1:00 P.M. at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave., Fresno, CA 93706
