Mary Louise Legge, 79, of Hollister died on Oct. 26, 2002 at Saint Louise Regional Medical Center.
Legge was born in San Jose and came to San Benito County in 1963. She attended Notre Dame High School in San Jose and Healds Business College.
Legge belonged to the Sacred Heart Church in Hollister, the Italian Catholic Federation of San Benito County and was a former member of the Y.L.I. She was wife to a longtime Elks member. She and her husband took many cruises to Mexico, the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, Panama and both eastern and western coasts of the United States. She also enjoyed going to Reno and Laughlin, Nev. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren at her summer home in Santa Cruz. She was an avid gardener.
Mary Legge and her husband John Legge were married for 56 years. She is survived by John, her daughter Loreen Dow and husband Norman of Gilroy, grandchildren Danell and Deena Dow of Gilroy, niece Lynn York of Santa Cruz and numerous cousins.
Friends are invited to attend the mass of Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and beginning at 6:15 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church before the mass.
Private interment will be Wednesday at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, Santa Clara.
