Clutch foul shots with six ticks left in overtime decides 68-67
victory over CordeValle
GILROY – Mike McAvoy made two free throws with six seconds left in overtime to lift Beale Properties past CordeValle 68-67 in Men’s D League adult basketball play Thursday at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Armando Ocampo dropped in 26 points and McAvoy followed with 21 as Beale joined Cordevalle and Pizza N Stuff at 2-1 atop the four-team league.

Daniel Crowe delivered 18 points for Cordevalle, including all four Duffer points in the overtime session. Chris Vigilante struck for 14, Mike Martinez 12 for the losers.

Donte Fullard scored 19 points Wednesday as Pizza N Stuff topped Gilroy Yong Plants 51-45. Miguel Gillard provided 19 points, Jeff Powell 10 for the winners. Robert Silvia hustled to 16 points, Bill Haughney and Matt McIntyre 11 apiece for Gilroy Young Plants, the first-half E League champion.

Above the Rim needed a basket by Linde Francis with two seconds to play to edge Williams Dental Lab 39-38 in Women’s League play Wednesday.

Christi Ledesma popped in 13 points as the Rim remained in title contention with a 2-1 record for the second half. Jenee Robertson threaded three 3-point field goals on the way to an 11-point night for Williams, tying Christina Castillo for team honors.

Melanie Arner scored 19 points as 3-0 Sparks powered by R. J. Dyer Real Property Investments 58-20. Shanah Keyes and Lilia Flores added 12 points apiece for the first-half champion, while Missy Hice scored 10 R.J. Dyer points.

Tony Warner scored 19 points and Andres Espinosa added nine as 3-0 Pro Electric-Gavilan Honda-Rio Nilo topped the Playaz 45-34 in Men’s E action Thursday at Solorsano Gym.

Ed Gamboa mustered nine points as the Playaz dropped to 2-1, one game off the pace of Pro-Gavilan-Rio Nilo.

The Titans are 1-2 for the second half after a 63-50 victory over the Sand Pit. Mike Vanni dominated play with 33 Titans points. Vance Lee hit three 3-pointers in a 17-point effort. Adolfo Mireles scored 20 points, Marco Lopez 14 for the Sand Pit.

Mark Cisneros fired in four 3-pointers in a 20-point performance Tuesday as 3-0 Gaeta’s Taqueria defeated 2-1 Headstart 71-60.

Richard Klauer and Sonny Old Elk (four 3’s) added 12 points each for the winners. Bob Lemmon canned six 3-pointers in a 33-point night for Headstart, the first-half D champion. Bill Christopher followed with 13 points.

Neil Garrett dropped in eight 3-pointers and scored 32 points to carry FFC past Triple Threat 75-41. Shawn Hennessy scored 17 points, Sergio Montenegro 12 for the winners. Sig Reynisson exploded for 13 points, Jacob Garcia nine for Triple Threat.
