Small earthquake occurs near Tres Pinos

A 3.5 magnitude earthquake hit near the Aromas area Friday afternoon.

The earthquake occurred at 3:18 p.m. It was centered six miles west-northwest of San Juan Bautista and 13 miles west-northwest from Hollister, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was at a depth of 4.1 miles.

Minutes after, people reported feeling the earthquake in Watsonville and Hollister.
