The Vets and Dee’s continue the best 2-of-3 series tonight at Christmas Hill Park at 7:40 p.m.
Three teams earned berths in the post-season competition by claiming wins Monday at Gavilan Sports Park in tie-breaker games.
Little Pizzarena is in the Men’s BB series opposite Lopez Vending Machines after an 11-3 decision over Obata Farms. Javi Galvan went 4-for-5 for the winners. Robert Silvia hit a two-run home run for Obata Farms.
Family Affair erased a 9-7 deficit with nine runs in the sixth inning and defeated Machinist Cooperative 16-12 in the Men’s DD contest. Terry Willis clubbed a single and three-run double in the Affair sixth. Chewy Romero went 3-for-3 and Gosta Brolin 3-for-4 with two RBI for Machinist Cooperative. Family Affair meets Puzzle Systems in the Championship Series.
Manny Freitas and Albert Tamez each cracked four hits to lead HMI past Radiator Doctor 21-12 and into the Men’s EE playoffs opposite Solid Ground beginning tonight.
Dee’s Nuts built an 8-1 lead over VFW Vets in the third inning. The Vets responded with a four-run third inning, then made it 8-7 when Chris Hernandez hit a two-run home run in the sixth. Jerry Nelson drew a bases-loaded walk with two out in the VFW seventh to tie the score. Montenegro followed with the winning hit.
Dean Filice and Dennis Barroza each went 3-for-3 to carry the Desperados past Los Chilotes 27-11 in the Men’s D opener Monday at Las Animas. Joel Gaeta and Oscar Aispuro each went 3-for-3 for Los Chilotes.
Laurie Klein went 4-for-4 and Veronica Rodriguez homered in a three-hit effort to lead Don’s Vending past Dutchman’s Pizza 14-4 in the Women’s C opener. Jeanne Ramos went 3-for-3 and Brady Davis scored twice for Dutchman’s Pizza.
J.R. Hernandez homered in a 4-for-4 showing Monday as the Gilroy Clippers outlasted Interstate Fence 18-7 in Men’s C play at Christmas Hill Park. Rob Flores went 3-for-3 and scored four Clipper runs. Will Gamboa Sr. went 3-for-4 for Interstate Fence.
Paul Bejarano went 3-for-3 to highlight a 10-7 Handmade Healthcare nod over Countryside Preschool in Men’s CCC play. John DeCarlo Jr. went 3-for-4 for Countryside.
Rene Rodgers homered in a 5-for-5 night to propel M. Rizzo Landscaping by Michael’s Mufflers 24-8 in Women’s D play. Kathy Morales and Sandi Liberatore each delivered four Rizzo Landscaping hits. Nicole Lara went 3-for-4 for Michael’s.
