GILROY – Gilroy High’s varsity girls water polo team tripled visiting Monterey Tuesday, winning 12-4 in a Tri-County Athletic League contest.

Chelsea Hill led all scorers with five goals and was followed by Maegan Collet and Alyssa Rothenberg, who each had two. Michelle Shields, Alex Marshall and Nicole Nelsen all had one goal for the Mustangs, helping to improve the team’s record to 2-2 on the season, 2-1 in the TCAL.

“This was a great all-around effort by the whole team,” Gilroy coach Sean La Guardia said.

The Mustangs’ next matches will come Friday and Saturday when they play in the Monterey Bay Shootout at Watsonville High School.
